There is no actual word for "driftwood" in Turkish. The Alanya people have adopted the greek word " ΥΑΛΟΣ -yalos" (coastline ) to mean driftwood. When we pick up "the beached", as we call them, the artistic work has already been done. Our job is only to put together and to bring out the beauty perfectly created by nature. We do not change the objects in any way -like carving or cutting- what you see is what we found on the beaches of Alanya.
Not Stralsund, but berlin. I took this on famous Alexanderplatz where currently an open-air exhibition informs about the peaceful revolution 1989/1990 in germany. Thats what I like about this city. There always new things to discover and very creative ideas how to use the public spaces. This exhibtion is free and pretty large so I think its worthy visiting it when you are in berlin.
